Welcome to Babylon 5

"It was the dawn of the Third Age of mankind, ten years after the Earth-Minbari War. The Babylon Project was a dream given form. Its goal was to create a place where humans and aliens could work out their differences peacefully. It was our last, best hope for peace. It failed. But as the Shadows swept across our galaxy, the Babylon Project became something greater. As the races united to fight one common foe, the Babylon station became instrumental in the Shadow War and the wars that followed. As the universe was plunged into darkness, it was a shining beacon all alone in the night. The Babylon Project became our last, best hope for victory.

This archive is the story of the Babylon stations, and all of the people, events, and related data concerning her and her inhabitants. The time is the 23rd century. The place: Babylon 5."

Featured Article

Susan Andrevna Ivanova (in Russian: Сюзанна Андреевна Иванова) was the second in command of Babylon 5 for the latter part of Jeffrey Sinclair's command, and for the whole of John Sheridan's.

Susan's family was Jewish, and she was brought up in the faith, including having a bat mitzvah. Susan's mother was a telepath, something she managed to keep hidden most of her life. The only minds she would touch were her family's, an experience that was very personal to Susan. She later described it as "being able to literally feel her mother's love for her."

Unknown to everyone (even perhaps her father and brother), Susan herself was a latent telepath.

As second-in-command of Babylon 5, Ivanova took her duties very seriously. She oversaw most of the docking/traffic-related duties out of C&C.

J. Michael Straczynski wrote on his website that he is no longer interested in "doing any low-budget cable things or small computer games" and that the "only thing I would be interested in doing regarding Babylon 5 from this point on is a full-featured, big-budget feature film."[1]
