I think that perhaps this category should be reorganized, putting most of the ships into sub-categories (Earth Alliance Ships, Minbari Ships, Centauri Ships, Narn Ships, Vorlon Ships, Anla'Shok Ships, etc.) instead of having them in the main Ships category itself. What do other people think? 2601:441:4680:3230:6811:C4FB:EBC6:356D 15:27, May 7, 2019 (UTC)

Ships are already categorized by races. Ships are further distinguished by classes and individual ships. Look at Nial class fighter. I didn't check the source but I think the 'Ships' category is inserted automatically by the infobox thus appearing in every ship article (this is true for both ship classes and individual ships). Perhaps It would be convenient to further expand ship classes category or to make the 'Ships' category a container for ship categories only and remove the category from the individual articles. Yes a container category for those ship categories is basically what I was suggesting, although perhaps with miscelaneous ships still in it instead of in a Miscelaneous Ships sub-category. 2601:441:4680:3230:6811:C4FB:EBC6:356D 18:28, May 7, 2019 (UTC)
Hm, what I'm seeing on a closer look is that the sub-categories (such as Centauri Ships) contain both ship classes and individual ships. And as categories that group together both by race, they're useful as-is. But they can't be used as-is as sub-categories solely for Ships or solely for Ship Classes. There are separate Earth Alliance Ships and Earth Alliance Ship Classes categories, but I'm not sure that it makes sense to make separate such categories for every species. So I'm not certain what's the best way to reorganize this set of categories. 75.73.8.37 22:12, May 17, 2019 (UTC)
When I made Shadow hybrid fighter, it didn't get automatically put in the Ships category. Small Earth Cat (talk) 02:26, June 28, 2019 (UTC)
