Correlilmurzon was a representative of the Lumati who came to Babylon 5 in 2259 to determine if the Earth Alliance was worthy of a treaty.

History[]

Correlilmurzon was sent by the Lumati, an advanced alien race who believe in strict adherence to natural selection, to Babylon 5 in 2259 to determine whether open relations should exist between they and the Earth Alliance. Since communicating directly with a "lesser species" would constitute a loss of face in his society, Correlilmurzon brought a servitor, Taq, to speak for him until he could decide whether humans were worthy.

Commander Susan Ivanova met the two Lumati and offered a tour of the station. After seeing Medlab and a few other facilities, Correlilmurzon suspected Ivanova was only showing her the "good parts" of the station, so he asked to be taken to Downbelow. Believing the Lurkers there had intentionally been isolated because of their "inferiority," Correlilmurzon was deeply impressed with the Alliance. He began to speak to Ivanova directly and agreed to draft a treaty immediately.

However, per Lumati custom, to finalize the deal required a sexual act between him and Ivanova. She delayed him for a couple hours before offering to go through with it "human style" (in reality, a song and dance made up by Ivanova on the spot), which she called superior to Lumati sex. Afterwards, the treaty was signed and Correlilmurzon and Taq left. Before leaving, Correlilmurzon sent Ivanova a gift with the note "next time, my way."[1]

Notes[]

Correlilmurzon's sole appearance was in "Acts of Sacrifice."
