Ian McShane (b. 29 September 1942 Blackburn, Lancashire, England, UK) is an English actor. He is best known for playing Lovejoy in the series, Lovejoy (1986 to 1994), and for his role on the HBO Western drama Deadwood. He most recently starred as King Silas in the NBC series Kings.
In a 2004 interview with The Independent, McShane stated that he wished that he had turned down the role of Robert Bryson in River of Souls.[1]
