"Netter's Syndrome" is a fictitious disease, invented on-the-spot by Lennier as a way to get a man in the docking bay waiting area to leave him alone.[1] He claims it is fatal, leaving him only days to live, and how it is passed by physical contact. The man, having been nudging and bothering Lennier for several minutes, grows worried and leaves immediately, offering a lie of his own and saying he has to "make a call". After the man leaves, Lennier says he will "do penance... later".
