Operation Sudden Death was a military operation under the command of Earthforce General Richard Franklin. The operation entailed the invasion of Akdor, the third planet in the Sh'lassen Triumvirate, which was torn in two by a civil war between the Sh'lassen government and a rebel faction. The Earth Alliance agreed to intervene on behalf of the government in exchange for allowing Earthforce to remain in the sector.

ISN reporter Tonia Wallace interviewed General Franklin after the Earthforce victory. Many of the members of the 356th Infantry Division lost their lives during the battle. ^[1]
