Nearly three hundred years after his death, Marcus Cole is taken out of stasis and is restored to life by the Anla'Shok. Finding that he no longer has a place in the world, he seeks out advanced genetic and computer technologies to re-create and reunite with his lost love, Susan Ivanova.
