Timov

Timov, daughter of Alghul was one of Londo Mollari's wives.[1]

HistoryEdit

In 2239, Timov was wed to Londo in an arranged marriage when she was still a young woman and at first, in her own youthfully optimistic way she was quite taken with her new husband.[2] Her illusions were soon dispelled as the realities of being in a loveless marriage sunk in, though, deep down she retained a very small measure of her old feelings.[3]

Unlike Londo's other two wives, Daggair and Mariel, Timov put up absolutely no pretence of affection for her husband, nor would she share a bed with him. Timov characterized the secret to their marriage's success as their lack of communication. She had nothing but disdain for his other wives and had no interest in the court gossip, political machinations or personal manipulations that the others seemed to delight in. Indeed, she showed disgust at Londo's suggestion that he and his three wives engage in an orgy.

In 2259, Emperor Turhan offered to grant Londo any one wish that he desired for the thirtieth anniversary of his Day of Ascension. He requested a divorce from the arranged marriages to his three wives, Timov, Daggair, and Mariel. One condition was presented, which was to keep at least one of the wives. He invited all three of them to come to Babylon 5 so he could deliver the news personally, just before having an anniversary party for his Day of Ascension. He had Vir meet Timov at the docking bay, and Vir was immediately terrified of the domineering Timov. Apparently, Timov had developed a reputation for biting.

A booby-trapped gift almost claims Londo's life, leaving him seriously injured and in need of a blood transfusion. Timov shares his blood type, but briefly considers allowing him to die; especially since he had not yet made news of his pending divorces final coupled with her knowledge of all the bad things Londo had done over the years. Ultimately, however, Timov decides to save Londo, if, for no other reason then she didn't want to win the battle between her and Londo in this way; preferring to fight it out in their own way. She agrees to provides a blood transfusion on the condition he can never know she was involved, a term Dr. Stephen Franklin agrees to.

After he recovers, Londo chooses to keep Timov because he always knew where he stood with her. For her part, Timov secretly found that respect for her honesty rather charming in its own way.

In 2262, Londo eventually ascended the throne, becoming the Emperor of the Centauri Republic, Timov remained married to him but still had little interest in involving herself in his life, though she was still not at all shy about giving him her opinion on his conduct, and she initially did not live with him. His ward Senna Refa invited her to the royal palace a few years later as she believed it would have a positive affect on Londo, which proved to be the case as the two grew closer and eventually rekindled their romance.

Timov passed away in January 2278, moments after Londo.[4]

NotesEdit

  • According to Peter David, who wrote ("Soul Mates"), Timov corresponds to "famine." With Timov (famine), Daggair (Pestilence), and Death (Mariel), Londo completes the set as "War".
  • Timov is "vomit" spelled backwards.
