[edit] History
Arriving after the Minbari base of operations had been destroyed during the First Shadow War, Valen provided the Minbari with a brand new base of operations.
The Minbari were curious where Valen had come from, but were unable to trace his lineage back in any Minbari line, hence was often spoken as being "A Minbari not born of Minbari." Valen tried to mend the problems between the three castes, who began to fight amongst themselves after their base had fallen. When the castes could not agree to work together, Valen formed the Anla'Shok, where no castes were recognized. The Anla'Shok became his fighting army. When the tide of the war turned in their favor, the castes desired to unite behind him.[5]
The Tak'cha were a race who were quickly called to Valen's message. The Tak'cha took Valen's teachings and message as part of a holy war, in which glory is found in war. When Valen discovered that the Tak'cha were attacking innocents who would not follow Valen "into fire, into darkness, into death" he banished them from his presence.[5]
Valen led the Minbari to victory against the Shadows, forged the Grey Council and prophecised 1000 years of peace. He also left the Minbari the three Triluminaries, which had actually been built on Epsilon 3 to respond to his DNA.
It is assumed he took a wife during this time as it is known he had children. This began the process of human and Minbari souls blending with one another. By 2261, his descendants were "too numerous to count," and included Delenn herself.[6]
His death is shrouded in mystery and his body never found, echoing the death of John Sheridan.

[edit] Future History
His "prophesies" were in fact the actual knowledge he retained from the future about what he was supposed to do.
