[edit] Warrior Clans
[edit] Fire Wings
The Fire Wings were the first to use flying machines in battle.[1]
Aside from the many clan wars in the times before Valen when Minbari killed Minbari, the Fire Wings no doubt participated in the war the defeated the Shadows in the thirteenth century. [2] When Valen appeared and reorganized Minbari society, they like all the Warrior Caste were chosen to defend their world against alien threats rather than fight their own people. The number of conflicts they took part in is not known except an attempted invasion by Streib. Like all the warriors, they were most bitter and resentful of the order to surrender at the end of the war with the Humans.
[edit] Moon Shields
The Moon Shields are a traditionally mounted force. Perhaps they were named so because of the shields that they used in battle.[1]
Aside from the many civil wars in the times before Valen when Minbari killed Minbari, the Moon Shields no doubt participated in the war the defeated the Shadows in the thirteenth century. [3] When Valen appeared and reorganized Minbari society, they like all the Warrior Caste were chosen to defend their world against alien threats rather than fight their own people. The number of conflicts they took part in is not known except an attempted invasion by Streib. Like all the warriors, they were most bitter and resentful of the order to surrender at the end of the war with the Humans.
[edit] Night Walkers
The Nights Walkers are primarily foot soldiers with expertise at traveling during the night. In ancient times, they followed up behind a mounted force of soldiers.
Aside from the civil wars before Valen, the Night Walkers no doubt took part in the war with the Shadows in the 13th century and minor conflicts involving other races like the Streib. During the Earth-Minbari War, they were probably used as ground forces perhaps in some of the battle situations described by Michael Garibaldi and the Lurker Amis.[4]
[edit] Star Riders
In ancient times, the Star Riders were a mounted force that used the stars to help guide them.[1]
The Star Riders are the oldest of all the warrior clans. Like all warriors, they no doubt fought against other Minbari in the numerous civil wars that plagued Minbar before Valen. They also fought in the First Shadow War where Valen appeared aboard a mysterious space station. When he formed the Grey Council and reorganized Minbari society, they and all the other warrior clans focused on defending their world against alien threats only.
In 2258, the Star Riders were nearly dishonoured when they disobeyed their own war leader by giving him a military funeral, instead of having him cremated as he wished.[5]

[edit] Wind Swords
The Wind Swords were the most militant in Minbari society. In ancient times, the Wind Swords were a mounted force probably with an emphasize on sword fighting. [1]
The Wind Swords are the most militant of all the warrior clans and jingoistic to the point that they will do anything to defend their world, even bypassing the circles of authority.[6]
Aside from the many civil wars in the times before Valen when Minbari killed Minbari, the Wind Swords no doubt participated in the war the defeated the Shadows in the thirteenth century. [7] When Valen appeared and reorganized Minbari society, they like all the Warrior Caste were chosen to defend their world against alien threats rather than fight their own people. The number of conflicts they took part in is not known except an attempted invasion by Streib.
Every though the Minbari were left untouched by the Dilgar in 2230s, they did shelter the war criminal Jha'dur no doubt for planetary security purposes. She developed weapons for them and when the Earth-Minbari War broke out, the Wind Swords presented them to the council.[6] Like all the warriors, they were most bitter and resentful of the order to surrender at the end of the war with the Humans, probably more so. When Babylon 5 was created in 2257, one of their number tried to sabotage it by framing Sinclair for the attempted murder of ambassador Kosh.[8][9] Possibly this was to discredit the humans and scuttle the peace.

[edit] Third Fane of Chudomo
By 2258, the Third Fane of Chudomo had served with honor for 500 years. [10]
However, in 2259 the clan was saved from near-devastating dishonor. The clan conspired to remove John Sheridan from the position of Babylon 5 Commanding Officer for his actions during the Earth-Minbari War, namely destroying the Drala Fi. On board the Drala Fi were several members of the Third Fane of Chudomo, and Ashan hoped to force Sheridan out of his position by framing him in the murder of Lavell.[11]
